I had looked forward to 2010 as a new beginning—a decade of discovery and change. I had been relieved to bid farewell to the last decade populated by cads and colored in grief. With
Lull, I tried to keep my chin up as well as helping others do the same. I’ve tried to look at the bright side of every downturn; I’ve withheld animosity and resentment and focused on moving forward.
But this
new round of heartache is untimely wicked. And I’m as angry as I am grief-stricken. There better be a whole lot of goodness ahead to balance out this long stretch of darkness.
“Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn’t permanent.”
—Jean Kerr
